All editing must be done outside web hosting software (Yahoo Site Builder) I have way too many pictures - even though I lost so many a couple years ago in Spain. It takes a lot of time to sort through them all, not to mention size - they must not be too big or too small. Wednesday, May 31, 2006 Branched out to "Family Name" type Picture Pages... Tuesday, May 30, 2006 Made pictures smaller behind the Thumbnails (for dial-up users)... Monday, May 29, 2006 It was mostly a quiet Memorial Day... Nick came over for awhile to watch a movie with me that he wanted me to see, "The Day After Tomorrow." I could hardly sit still through some of it, it was so intense. But if Global Warming could be leading to that (a "sudden" Ice Age) I hope we take steps, soon, to avert it... (I thought global warming meant getting warmer overall, not triggering a sudden "deep freeze!") It was a very thought provoking film with lots of incredible Special Effects... I especially liked the Mexican border scenes where the roles at the border were switched. (I think it could be a box office smash if it were re-released playing up that point!) I appreciated the "reasonably" hopeful ending... But the Poseidon Adventure stuff was too much for me. Sunday, May 28, 2006 Had a good week. Made good progress with the website... Saturday, May 27, 2006 Major breakthrough! Thumbnails can be made "any" size and shape - they link to themselves! I'll keep pictures to one page from now on... Time for a "technical" page. Friday, May 26, 2006 Researched help pages at Yahoo They have me hooked. Thursday, May 25, 2006 Must edit pictures outside of Yahoo Site-Builder... Wednesday, May 24, 2006 Time to start making "subject" and "picture" links with their own Title... The hard part is having to do so much of this outside of "Site-Builder" There's a fair amount of tools for text but nothing for graphics. Tuesday, May 23, 2006 I figured out how to make my own "template" But later discovered I just want to "Save As" Monday, May 22, 2006 I branched out to making and adding new pages with "Links." Sunday, May 21, 2006 I finally got around to loading Yahoo Site-Builder (2.2). It was not completely "intuitive" at first, to work with, but it was fun... The templates they offered were handy for awhile to get started, but it didn't take long to reach the limit of their power... It was a very long but very satisfying day... |
