"If I could put time in a bottle."
(Thank you Jim Croce)
Time is all we've got, really...  Regardless of how we got here, who
we're related to or not (or think we're not and/or wish we weren't), the
calendar is how we keep track of things and life's cycles...  It is not
essential to anything, but it tells a story when you look into it because:

Biblically Speaking
we are all related to Adam and Eve; while
Scientifically Speaking the case is made that we're all related to "Lucy"
-- and there isn't a complete record on either side...  Every attempt to
explain "everything" falls short in some way to satisfy everybody...
Supposedly, therefore, we all get to make up our own mind?

It is not a stretch for me to imagine that we are all related to each other
and everything in many ways -- no matter how we figure it, religiously
or scientifically...  And I include in "everyone's related" (to) every
known form of life on earth and in the universe if we're lucky -- even
bugs, bacteria, and viruses!  But you don't have to go that far if you
don't want to or believe me, it just pleases me to think of life that way...
The only bigger mystery in the universe is the universe itself!  But
without life in it how would we know or care -- what would be the point?

If you haven't seen Disney's
"It's Tough To Be A Bug" you should
check it out sometime...  And as far as "pedigree" is concerned, I side
with Disney's
"Lady and the Tramp."  Maybe I live in a fantasy world?
Until you start writing these things down and looking into them you
can't believe how fast the Family Tree grows... (There was a lot of
"begetting" in the bible and the bugs didn't make out so bad either.)
Time & Money
"Money can pay wages but it can't buy time."

"Time overcomes everything except the truth."
Time and Family Tree's...
Family Tree's grow so fast they have to be put on separate pages:
